Few artists can fuse genres as effortlessly as Linda Lewis. Gifted with an incredible 5 octave vocal range, her unique sound contains elements of Folk, Soul, Pop and Rock and has won the admiration of artists from Stevie Wonder to Paul Weller, Jamiroquai and Noel Gallagher, who Linda recently recorded backing vocals for.

LARK, released in 1972, was Linda’s first with producer Jim Cregan. The album featured a number of enduring favourite tracks, with OLD SMOKEY and REACH FOR THE TRUTH in particular becoming signature songs. In recent years, samples from these tracks have appeared in singles by hip-hop artist COMMON and electronic artist MIDFIELD GENERAL, introducing a new generation of listeners to Linda’s work.

Bonus track ROCK A DOODLE DOO gave Linda her first UK Top 20 hit single. It became one of her best-known songs and also featured in Linda’s set this summer at Glastonbury, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of both the Festival itself as well as her own debut performance there.
