Highlighting soul legend William Bell’s 13-year career of writing and recording at Stax, which began in 1961, with some of his best-loved hits, including, "You Don’t Miss Your Water,” “Private Number” (w/Judy Clay), and “I Forgot To Be Your Lover.” In 2016, Bell, who continues to actively perform, returned to Stax with This Is Where I Live, his first major release in almost four decades. This Is Where I Live won the 2017 GRAMMY® award for the Best Americana Album; Bell’s first GRAMMY® award in his illustrious 60 year career. This collection of music by Soul legend William Bell highlights his 13-year career at Stax, which began in 1961 with one of the label’s earliest hits, "You Don’t Miss Your Water.” Over the course of his time at Stax, Bell released 33 singles for the label, and 6 LPs, including his 1967 debut The Soul of a Bell, 1969’s Bound to Happen, and Phases of Reality (1972). In 2016, Bell, who continues to actively perform, returned to Stax for This Is Where I Live, his first major release in almost four decades.
