HYPNOPHONIC ist Äl Jawala´s drittes Studio-Album. HYPNOPHONIC is Al Jawala ́s third studio album. Against the predominant tide, Al Jawala has remained faithful to their love of the Eastern sounds and it sparkles even more intensley than ever. The journey is becoming more interesting than it has ever been. It ́s not a secret that you can have a roaring party on Balkan Beats. But what Al Jawala is brewing on HYPNOPHONIC pushes forward the limits in a completely new direction. It may be summed up best by the term "deepness". Danceability is still held up high, but in a new dimension, somewhat laid-back, obscure, hypnotic and anchored a few levels deeper.

The musicians took charge of the production themselves this time. Relaxed and with lots of time, the band recorded in their own rehearsal rooom with enough room for adventures and enough peace to resist unnnecessary studio-temptations. Thus, they have succeeded in capturing a kind of musical magic that can usually only be invoked live on stage.

The album was mixed and mastered by Vicente Celi at Phlexton Studios Berlin. With him, Äl Jawala found a perfect accomplice to realize their sound visions. The spectrum on HYPNOPHONIC is huge: from earthy and heavy in "What do you care?" to the delirious highspeed whirlwind "Dancefloor Dervish". What connects the songs in all their broad range is the driving, trance-like flow that can be traced like a golden thread throughout the album.

Unlike the previous albums that have been kept mainly instrumental, Al Jawala are presenting quite a number of guest singers now: Flo Mega (Bremen, Germany), Bayan Faroun (Jerusalem / Palestine), Mamoudou Doumbouya (Conakry, Guinea) and the mysterious Rukie. Another surprise is in store for the listener as well: Al Jawala ́s saxophonist Steffi Schimmer is also featured as a singer! Additionally, an experimental highlight is the song "Be Anybody", with twelve vocalists interlocking and singing in turns.
