Tim Weisberg's Naked Eyes is a prime example of the type of jazz sounds being produced out of California over the last decade. It was recorded, mixed, and mastered in the city's of Torrance and Hollywood. This is modern Tim Weisberg, not the type of Weisberg from the 70's/80's of which I am most fond of. However, since the avaliability of his older recording's on CD are so hard to find we will have to enjoy what he is producing now. Naked Eyes is an excellent mellow jazz album. Tim's flute playing has moved foward also. He has a special smoothness to his tone. His playing has a nice flow to it. Tim is a true inovator when it comes to using special sound effects to enhance the sounds of both his flute and his music. This album features some Great talent!! Larry Cohn and David Benoit on various keybords,Luis Conte percussion's and the tasteful drumming of John Ferraro. Musical highlights include; I'm talkin to you-a funky, jumpy tune with some powerful keyboard induced horn parts to accent it. After the rain- you can expect to hear perfect drums, percussion and flutes on this one. Next is a tune called, Words Unspoken- featuring interesting interplay between the flute and keyboards. Yo Yo- is a song with teriffic guitar solos. Track #9 Dion Blue is my personal favorite. A beautiful slow tune with a melody that is mystical, magical, and somewhat haunting. Giving the listener a sense of peace and calmness. All in All, Naked Eyes is a pleasantly smooth jazz album. " Enjoy "
