Split between studio and live tracks, there are few vestiges of Fame's pop/rock traits on this set, which focuses on suaver, jazzier big-band arrangements. It's pulled off in a convincingly sophisicated and smooth fashion, but it lacks much spunk or fire. The material includes covers of standards by the likes of Rodgers & Hart, and the set will probably appeal more to jazz vocal fans than listeners who think Fame's mid-'60s "beat" records were his best.
