Veronika Harcsa, Bálint Gyémánt and time - the relationship between the three contains some genuine thrills, and in more ways than one. The name of their new record is About Time. Being in time to the music is an art, while the distinctive rhythms of time are the soul of jazz. There is also a more subjective interpretation: a special moment has arrived in the life of the two musicians. Both their mentors and their huge influence are still active, and the younger generation, perhaps influenced by them, arrive with a mature, fresh sound. The duo felt that now is the time to celebrate all of the above.

"About Time" is already the second album released by this quartet line-up. Compared to the joint work "Shapeshifter" released in 2019, however, it marks a huge leap, and that in several respects. On "Shapeshifter" Veronika Harcsa and Bálint Gyémánt expanded their stylistic horizon by a whole range of sound colors. On "About Time" they now translate this broadening of horizons into their own language. The reason for this intensification of pace lies in the band's chemistry. On "Shapeshifter," the duo's expansion to include the possibilities of a rhythm section was the album's real message. In the course of countless tours, however, they have grown together both humanly and musically. The two Belgians Thys and Pierre, whom the Hungarian has known since her studies in Brussels, are also bandleaders themselves in a wide variety of formations and bring their own experiences into the band context at eye level. "A lot of time always passes between two albums," the singer confirms. "Before the first quartet album, we had only played one or two concerts and only then took the first step. On 'About Time' we were definitely able to carry our stage experience into the studio."
