    Personnel:
  • Ben Webster - tenor saxophone
  • Michael Renzi - piano
  • Bob Petterutti - bass
  • Joe Veletri - drums

This CD from the Danish label Storyville augments the earlier LP with a previously unreleased version of "Tenderly." Shortly before he permanently left the United States, veteran tenor saxophonist Ben Webster performed a concert in Providence, Rhode Island with pianist Mike Renzi, bassist Bob Petterutti and drummer Joe Valetri. The standards-oriented repertoire (only the Webster-Gerry Mulligan tune "Go Home" is obscure) was typical for a date by the tenor. The classic tenor sounds fine on such tunes as "Perdido," "Bye Bye Blackbird," "My Romance" and "How Long Has This Been Going On," roaring like a lion on the stomps and purring like a pussycat on the ballads.
