"No Half Measures" is the sixth studio album by composer and pianist Nicolai Thärichen with his small big band. Conceptually, it is significantly different from its predecessors. "The idea behind it is participatory. All musicians were encouraged to contribute their own ideas. In this way, I wanted to show appreciation to colleagues and thank them for keeping me faithful for so long. With pieces that I write to them", Thärichen explains the concept of the new album. With "No Half Measures", Nicolai Thärichen proves once again that he was not without reason already referred to as the "Robert Schumann of the 21st century". His arrangements thrive on the variety and combination of the instruments used differently - and from his attention to musical detail. If so, because already. No half things.
